Vikings Add Another Guard For 2026-27 Season With Signing Of Trevor Frank

Portland State Men's Basketball Coach Jase Coburn has announced the signing of Trevor Frank, a transfer from Dallas Baptist, for the 2026-27 season.

Frank is a 6-1 guard from Katy, Texas and Paetow High School. He played three seasons at Dallas Baptist of the Lone Star Conference, averaging 10.3 points per game over his career. Frank was a second team All-Lone Star selection in 2025-26. He was a two-time LSC Sixth Man of the Year as a freshman and a sophomore. Frank is also a two-time All-Lone Star Tournament choice. He hit the game-winning jump shot with 0.2 seconds remaining in the Lone Star Tournament Championship, leading Dallas Baptist to a 76-74 win over Eastern New Mexico in March.

"Trevor embodies everything that Portland State basketball culture is about," said Coburn. "He is extremely competitive and has a dedication to getting better every day. He comes from a winning program in a really tough league. One thing that attracted us to him is his ability to guard the ball which fits in with our identity. On the offensive side, he is a very talented scorer and can really shoot the ball.

"We are looking forward to him being one of our hardest workers. I think Portland State fans are really going to love and appreciate Trevor."

In his 106-game career at Dallas Baptist, Frank averaged 10.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.0 steals. He made 220 three-point field goals (2.1 per game) and shot .824 at the free throw line while scoring 1,093 points.

Frank was a high school teammate of current Viking Charles Chukwu. He lettered all four years at Paetow HS and was Texas Class 5A All-State and District Most Valuable Player as a senior. Frank was also a three-time first team All-District selection and garnered All-Region honors twice during his prep career.

The first signing for the Vikings this spring, Frank joins a Portland State program that won the Big Sky Conference regular season championship in 2025-26 (20-11/13-5) and is led by Big Sky Coach of the Year Jase Coburn.
