FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Portland State men's tennis team wrapped up a three-match weekend in Arizona with a 6-1 loss to Northern Arizona on Sunday at the NAU Tennis Center.

The Vikings (4-9, 1-1 Big Sky) picked up a point in singles, as junior Hampus Hagglund earned a three-set win at No. 6. The Lumberjacks (8-5, 2-0 Big Sky) secured the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Edoardo Cravanzola and Maas Schotanus were leading Takumi Katsuda and Vincent Vohl on court one when the point was clinched, leaving their match unfinished.

Northern Arizona clinched the team victory with four straight-set wins across the top four singles courts. Ignacio Ruiz and Hagglund both played their opponents to three sets. Ruiz claimed the opening set at No. 5 over Katsuda before dropping the next two, losing 2-6, 6-4, 6-1. Hagglund also took the first set in his match against Daniels Tens, but after a second-set loss, regrouped to secure a 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 win.

The Vikings return home next weekend for a pair of matches at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center. Portland State will host Lewis & Clark on Friday, March 13 at 10 a.m., followed by Montana on Sunday, March 15 at 10 a.m.
