Eight members of the Portland State Football team have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team for 2025.
 
Senior defensive end Slade Shufelt, senior linebacker Keegan Stancato, senior kicker Mathias Uribe, senior tight end Seth Lyon, junior linebacker Jaxton Helmstetler, junior defensive tackle Daniel Matagi, sophomore quarterback John-Keawe Sagapolutele and sophomore safety Isaiah Green all received honors for their achievements in the classroom and on the field.
 
To qualify, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve, and have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). All-District selections are now eligible for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced on January 27.
 
Shufelt, Helmstetler, Stancato, Uribe and Green are multiple honorees as Academic All-District and/or Academic All-Big Sky. Matagi, Lyon and Sagapolutele are first team honorees as Vikings.
  
All eight will earn Academic All-Big Sky Conference honors for 2025 when released later this winter. The Viking football team had an overall GPA of 3.22 during the fall, the highest on record during a season.
