Portland State Men's and Women's Basketball will take part in the Big Sky Conference – Summit League Challenge for the third year in a row this December. The teams will each play a pair of games against Summit League opponents – home and road – during the first week of December.
 
The Viking women will get the first home game in the Challenge, hosting South Dakota on Wednesday, December 3, at Viking Pavilion. That same evening, the Viking men will play at South Dakota.
 
On Saturday, December 6, the women will travel to play at Kansas City. The Viking men come home to host Omaha that day in Viking Pavilion.
 
PSU is taking part in the league-wide competition as all schools from each conference will go head-to-head on those two days. The Viking men had their best record in seven seasons last year at 19-13, placing third in the Big Sky Conference. The Viking women look forward to their first season under new Head Coach Karlie Burris.
 
These are the first officially announced basketball games for the 2025-26 season. The Big Sky will release the conference schedule later this summer. Teams will follow with non-conference schedules. The Big Sky Conference Tournament will take place Mar. 7-11 at Idaho Central Arena in Boise.
