HILLSBORO, Ore. – The Portland State softball team dropped its regular-season finale to Big Sky regular-season champion Idaho State on Sunday, falling 11-0 at Hillsboro Stadium.
The Vikings (12-37) split Friday's series-opening doubleheader with the Bengals (34-15), setting up a rubber match on Saturday. But Idaho State put on a dominant display, securing a run-rule victory to clinch the series. Bengals freshman pitcher Megan Meracle tossed a perfect game in the finale — the first against Portland State since No. 2-ranked Oklahoma did it in 2021.
The Bengals scored three runs in the first inning and extended their lead to five in the second. A grand slam in the third broke the game open, giving Idaho State a 9-0 advantage before two more runs in the fourth sealed the 11-0 win.
The Vikings honored their 2025 senior class after the game, celebrating

The Vikings now turn their attention to the Big Sky Conference Tournament, set for May 6-9 in Greeley, Colo. Portland State will enter as the No. 5 seed and open play on Tuesday, May 6, against host and No. 4 seed Northern Colorado.
