Viking Basketball Signs Isaiah Williams For 2025-26 Season

Portland State Men's Basketball has continued to add to its roster for the 2025-26 season as Head Coach Jase Coburn has announced the signing of Isaiah Williams.

Williams, a 6-7 forward from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, will be a graduate transfer for the Vikings. Art U is an NCAA Division II program in the Pacific West Conference. Williams comes off a brilliant 2024-25 season in which he averaged 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while starting 29 of 31 games.

The Vikings expect similar success for Williams as a Viking in the coming year that Division II transfer Qiant Myers had this past season.

"We know exactly who we are adding to our team with Isaiah," said Vikings Coach Jase Coburn. "With (new Vikings assistant coach) Gabe Palmquist-Clark coaching Isaiah the past two years (at Art U) we have great familiarity with what Isaiah can produce.

"It's really important to keep our own players but it's also really important to add the right people to our team and Isaiah allows us to do that. He has been very successful at the D-2 level and we feel that we are a great fit. We watched for very specific things on film and believe he is exactly what we were looking for."

In 2023-24 at Art U, Williams averaged 11.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists. Prior to that, he played at Butler Community College in Kansas. Williams averaged 12.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game, earning second-team All-Kansas Jayhawk Conference honors and an All-Defensive first team selection. The team was KJCCC champions reaching the 2023 NJCAA D1 Men's Basketball Championship.

Webb is the fifth signee for the Vikings. He joins a roster with seven returning players, two of which were starters.
