Viking XC Men, Women Sweep USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors for Seventh Straight Season

FULL LIST OF HONOREES

NEW ORLEANS —
January may be a tough time to run outside. But it's a great time to receive awards for running outside and excelling in the classroom. That's just the Portland State cross country program received Thursday as both the men's and women's teams were named USTFCCCA All-Academic.

The Viking women received the honor with a 3.66 team GPA through fall term, while the men received the honor with a 3.44 team GPA. The 3.44 GPA for the Viking men stands as their second-best mark in program history, trailing only the team's 3.51 GPA in 2015.

This year's honors mark the seventh straight year the Viking men and women have swept the honors, as well as 10th time out of the last 11 years.

Additionally, 15 cross country athletes received Academic All-Big Sky honors Thursday between six on the men's team and nine on the women's team.
