Portland State's dynamic senior quarterback,
Dante Chachere, has been named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000, highlighting the top 1,000 NFL prospects ahead of the 2024 college football season. More significantly, Chachere is one of only
63 FCS players and nine Big Sky Conference players included on the 2025 Shrine Bowl list.
Chachere will lead the Vikings for a third season in 2024. The 6-3, 200-pound dual threat quarterback hails from Fresno, CA. He has started the last 22 games for the Vikings. Chachere has thrown for 3,529 yards and 35 touchdowns, and rushed for 1,238 yards and 17 touchdowns over that span. Not including sack yardage, he has more than 1,500 total rushing yards. Chachere has twice been named the Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
A team co-captain, Chachere will lead the Vikings into the 2024 season with the start of practice on Aug. 1. The Vikings open the season at Washington State on Aug. 31.
The Shrine Bowl 1000 includes prospects from all four levels of football, scouted by NFL and college personnel from across the country. The 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl is scheduled for Jan. 30 at A&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
