PORTLAND, Ore. – Fourteen Portland State softball players were named All-America Scholar-Athletes for the 2023-24 season by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
The NFCA recognizes student-athletes who have achieved academic excellence with a GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.
The Vikings' 14 honorees set a new program record for NFCA Scholar-Athletes, surpassing their previous high of 12 in 2021.
Seniors Alexa Cepeda, Shea Garcia, and Logan Riggenbach earned the award for the fourth time in their careers.
Joining them were upperclassmen Allicitie Frost, Marisol Gaona, Jade Henry, Annie Lemos, Paetynn Lopez, Natalia Martinez, Makayla Romeo, and Neveah Smith.
Sophomore Alison Harris and freshmen Lorraine Alo and Brooke Subia also received the honor.
This announcement follows the release of the Academic All-Big Sky list earlier this week, which included ten Viking softball players.
