Viking Men, Women Sweep USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors for Sixth Straight Year

NEW ORLEANS — Never take a good tradition for granted. The Portland State track & field program knows not to do that as for the sixth straight year, the Viking men's and women's teams each earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors.

The Viking women earned the honor with a 3.59 GPA for the 2023-24 school year, while the men earned the honor with a 3.3 team GPA. Both were well above the minimum 3.0 GPA needed to qualify for the award.

Both programs have now earned the honor after every season since 2019. The women were also honored from 2006-08 and 2014-16. The men earned their first honor in 2016.

In addition to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honor, the Vikings had 17 athletes receive Academic All-Big Sky honors for the spring outdoor season Monday between eight for the men and nine for the women. That was after 16 athletes (10 men, six women) earned the honor following the winter indoor season, as well as 13 athletes (five men, eight women) following the fall cross country season.
