Erik Edmonds Named Associate Athletics Director For Development

Erik Edmonds has been named the new Associate Athletics Director for Development for the Portland State Athletics program. Edmonds will work under the auspices of the PSU Foundation as he directs Annual Giving for the Vikings Athletics program.

Edmonds will oversee fundraising and alumni engagement for the athletics department and will work collaboratively with Leah Thyne and Stephanie Brindley on Portland State Athletics' external engagement strategy.

"The addition of Erik Edmonds to our Athletics and Foundation staff will greatly enhance our outreach and fund-raising abilities," said Director of Athletics John Johnson. "He will be vital to the 'Build The Ship' ethos we have developed in Vikings Athletics.

"Erik has a proven track record in development and fund-raising in the greater Portland area. We are thrilled that he has joined our team."

"I'm excited to work in support of the Portland State University Athletic program and contribute to the success of student-athletes on and off the field," Edmonds said. "I'm a resident of Portland and I see PSU as the flagship university of the city. When PSU succeeds, so does our City."

Edmonds comes to PSU after spending the past 18 months working at the University of Portland as Associate Director of Annual Giving for the President's Club. Prior to his time at UP, Edmonds spent two years as a Donor Relations Officer for the Children's Cancer Association in Portland. He was also a Development Associate for HomePlate Youth Services in Beaverton from 2018 to 2020.

Edmonds spent his youth in Florida before earning an undergraduate degree at California State Monterey Bay. He went on to earn his Law Degree at the University of Florida.
