HILLSBORO, Ore. - Following several hours of rain delays on Sunday, Portland State softball lost 2-1 to Montana in the final game of its three-game series at Hillsboro Stadium. With a doubleheader sweep on Saturday, the Vikings still won the series, moving to 11-17 (2-1 BSC). The Grizzlies jumped to 7-25 (1-2 BSC).
After the Grizzlies gave up 21 runs to the Vikings on Saturday, Montana's starting pitcher Allie Brock delivered, limiting Portland State to just three hits in Sunday's series finale.

The Vikings' only run of the day came in the fourth inning when Trinity Holden sent a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Emily Johansen to tie the game at one. Montana pushed the go-ahead run across in the top of the sixth to go up 2-1.
Holden gave the Vikings a chance in the bottom of the seventh, reaching on a leadoff single but Montana buckled down, retiring the next three batters to secure the win.
Annie Lemos started in the circle for PSU. The sophomore took the loss, despite a solid 5.2 innings of work holding Montana to five hits and two earned runs. Sherreigh Nakoa-Chung finished things off, holding the Grizzlies hitless for the final 1.1 innings.
