Emily Johansen Named Big Sky Player of the Week For Third Time This Season

FARMINGTON, Utah - For the third time this season, Portland State softball's Emily Johansen has been named the Big Sky Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

The senior hit .500 (5-for-10) over the weekend, leading the Vikings to a 2-1 weekend over Idaho State to claim their third straight conference series win of the year. Johansen tallied two home runs and led the Vikings with a team-high six RBI and 11 total bases in the series. Also drawing a walk and a hit by pitch, Johansen finished the weekend with a .583 on-base percentage.

Johansen enters the final two conference series of the season ranking top three in the Big Sky for batting average (.372), home runs (6) and RBIs (36).

Monday's honor is the fourth of Johansen's career.
