LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Portland State women's soccer team couldn't overcome a three-goal deficit as they fell to New Mexico State 3-0 Saturday evening at the New Mexico State Athletic Complex.

The Vikings fell to 1-3-2 while the Aggies improved to 2-2-1. Â

The opening 35 minutes were scoreless as the teams combined for just five shots. New Mexico State broke through in the 35
th minute to go ahead 1-0. Following the break, the Aggies added goals in the 75
th and 80
th minutes to run away with the 3-0 win.

The Vikings tallied five shots in the match, freshman
Emma Johnston led with two. Â For the sixth match in a row,
Hailey Green played all 90 minutes as she leads the Vikings with 540 minutes on the season.

Portland State will return home on Thursday, Sept 8, to take on Hawaii at Hillsboro Stadium (1:05 p.m.).
