Big Sky Conference Makes The Move To ESPN+ For Live Streaming

All Portland State Athletics and Big Sky Conference live-stream sporting events will move to ESPN+ beginning with the 2021 fall season. The joint announcement was made from ESPN and the Big Sky Conference today.

The Big Sky Conference and ESPN announced the new multi-year, multi-platform media rights agreement, adding hundreds of Big Sky live events to ESPN's college sports portfolio. More than 600 Big Sky events in both men's and women's sports will stream on ESPN+ and the ESPN App. ESPNU will televise two football games each year, in addition to one regular season men's basketball game and the championship games for the Big Sky Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments slated for ESPN networks.

"This landmark agreement for the Big Sky and our membership rightfully aligns the nation's preeminent FCS conference with the strongest media brand in sports," Commissioner Tom Wistrcill said. "We are absolutely thrilled to join the ESPN family and deliver an elevated viewing experience with hundreds of Big Sky contests on ESPN+ each year. In addition, the numerous linear opportunities on ESPN networks now available to us is unprecedented among our peers, and yet another way that we will enhance the brand of the Big Sky."

In practice, fans will now be able to live stream PSU events on ESPN+ rather than its previous service provider, Pluto TV or www.WatchBigSky.com. The move will coincide with an upgrade in quality and content from Big Sky Conference schools.

In addition, ESPN+ is the industry-leading sports streaming service that offers fans in the U.S. thousands of live sports events, original programming not available on ESPN's television networks and exclusive editorial content from dozens of ESPN writers and reporters. Now, the Big Sky Conference joins some 20 other Division I conferences, including the SEC, Big 12, AAC, Conference USA, MAC, Sun Belt, A10, Ivy League and more on the ESPN platform.

ESPN+ is a standalone streaming service that sports fans subscribe to directly on ESPN.com, ESPNPlus.com or through the ESPN App. It costs just $5.99 a month, or $59.99 per year.

Sports fans access it through the ESPN+ section of ESPN.com or the ESPN App (on mobile, tablet and connected TV devices). They can also subscribe at ESPNplus.com.

ESPN+ and the ESPN App are available on Apple and Android mobile and tablet devices, as well as on TV- connected devices including: Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Google Chromecast, Playstation, Roku, Samsung Smart TVs, Xbox and more.

Users can stream anytime, anywhere and on up to three simultaneous devices. They can view events live or watch on-demand, in HD, and can download some content for offline viewing.

ESPN+ is also available as part of The Disney Bundle that gives subscribers access to Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu for $13.99/month (Hulu w/ads) or $19.99/month (Hulu w/o ads).
