Big Sky Conference Athletic Directors and Presidents have voted to revert to playing its scheduled fall 2020 season in the fall of 2021. The 2021 league schedule will be erased and new schedules for 2022 and beyond will be created due to the departure of Southern Utah to the Western Athletic Conference after the 2021-22 academic year.
 
Portland State will still face its two 2021 non-conference opponents to open the season - Sept. 4 at Hawai'i and Sept. 11 at Washington State. However, the mid-season non-conference game with Tarleton State, scheduled for Oct. 9, will have to be rescheduled due to the alteration in the Big Sky Conference schedule. 
 
The Viking program is now seeking a different non-conference opponent for its open Sept. 18 date. With the loss of the Tarleton State game on the 2021 schedule, PSU currently has four home dates.
