NEWBERG, Ore. — 30 Rock character Jack Donaghy advised Liz Lemon to find her home turf when negotiating against him. Angela Mumford and Kameron Smith weren't negotiating Saturday, but they may still have found their home turf as both posted seasonal bests while competing once again at George Fox University's Multi-Use Facility for the Portland Indoor Three.
 
Mumford won the shot put Saturday, the second straight meet at GFU's Multi-Use Facility where Mumford won the shot put following a win at the Portland Indoor Two on Feb. 8. Smith, meanwhile, dipped under her previous seasonal best in the prelims and finals of the 60 meters.
 
Mumford led the shot put from wire-to-wire Saturday, leading from her first throw to her sixth. Mumford's sixth throw upped her mark to a seasonal-best 41-01.50 (12.53m), the second-best indoor mark of Mumford's Viking career.
 
Smith opened the day with a personal best in the prelims of the 60 meters. Smith crossed the line in 8.01 seconds, four-hundredths of a second ahead of her previous best, which she set at last year's Big Sky Indoor meet.
 
Additionally, Smith's previous seasonal best was 8.17 seconds, set at the Vandal Open on Jan. 11, and Smith dipped below that time again in the 60-meter finals Saturday. Smith placed eighth in the finals while finishing in 8.07 seconds.
 
Smith will compete again in the 200 meters on the second day of the Portland Indoor Three Sunday, when events shift to the University of Portland's Chiles Center. Events start at 4 p.m. with the women's 3,000 meters.
