CHENEY, Wash. — The Portland State women's tennis team fell 7-0 to Big Sky-rival Eastern Washington Sunday at the Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse.
 
The Vikings (0-14, 0-10 Big Sky) played close matches against the Eagles (7-10, 4-3 Big Sky) at lines two, three and five in singles, but the Eagles pulled out all three matches in 10-point tiebreakers.
 
Eszter Zador and Taylor Rees each won the first set of their matches, 6-4, at lines two and five, respectively. Zador lost the second set of her match against EWU's Zoey Nelson in a tiebreaker, however, and then lost the following 10-point tiebreaker, 10-7. Rees, meanwhile, couldn't hold off a surging opponent as EWU's Faye Worrall won nine of the final 10 games in their match, and won the match tiebreaker to win 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-4).
 
Alli Valk came back after losing a close first set against EWU's Rylee Braeden at line three to win the second set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (5). However, Braeden rebounded to win the ensuing 10-point tiebreaker, 10-6.
 
The Vikings will conclude their regular season on the road with matches against Nevada and Sacramento State on April 20 and 22, respectively.
