Ericksen Leaves Portland State For Position At Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

Portland State Track and Field Head Coach Brent Ericksen has been hired as the new Head Coach at Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

Ericksen leaves Portland State after directing the Viking program for the past two seasons. While at PSU his athletes won nine individual titles at the Big Sky Conference Indoor and Outdoor Championships. They earned a total of 29 All-Big Sky honors including cross country, indoor and outdoor track, and broke or tied 10 school records. Ericksen also had a total of seven NCAA West Regional qualifiers from the Viking program.

At TAMCC, Ericksen returns to a program where he was Associate Head Coach for one season in 2007-08.

"We thank Coach Ericksen for his time directing our program the past two seasons and working with our student-athletes. We wish him the best of luck as he leaves Portland State," said Director of Athletics Valerie Cleary.

A national search for his replacement will begin immediately.
