Sidney Rielly's season-high 28 points led the Vikings to their first win of the season, 90-78, over the San Jose State Spartans Sunday afternoon in San Jose, Calif.

The Portland State (1-3 overall) offense came alive against San Jose State (1-2) scoring a season-high 90 points. The Vikings had four players score in double-figures led by Rielly's 28.

Rielly has led the Vikings in scoring in each game this season and has scored 20-points in each of her last three. She went 8-for-17 from the floor with a pair of three-pointers against the Spartans. She went 10-for-12 at the free-throw line, while adding four rebounds and four assists over 33 minutes of action.

Rielly has scored double-digit points in 28-of-37 career games at Portland State, including 14 20-point games, which tied for 10th all-time in program history.

The Vikings shot a season-high .464 from the field going 26-for-56. Portland State hit eight three-pointers with four players hitting a pair.

Kylie Jimenez went 2-for-5 from three-point range and finished the game with 15 points, six rebounds, and two assists in 31 minutes. She has scored at least 13 points with a pair of three-pointers in each of her first four career games.

Corey James posted her first double-digit scoring game of the season with 12 points to go along with four rebounds over a team-high 38 minutes.

Courtney West added nine points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and a season-high four blocks. West now sits at 104 career blocks, 14 blocks shy of the Portland State career record of 118 held by Kellie Chandler-Read (1994-97).

Tatiana Streun came off the bench and gave the Vikings some good minutes. She scored eight points and pulled down a season-high 10 rebounds. She is averaging 6.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in 17.8 minutes off the bench on the year.

Portland State and San Jose State traded baskets over the first minute of the game before the Vikings rattled off 10-straight points to go up 13-4 with 5:07 left in the first. After a Spartans jumper, the Vikings extended their run to 15-2 to go up 18-6 after a three-pointer from James.

The Spartans went on a 7-0 run to pull within five at 18-13 before Streun scored the final three points of the quarter to put the Vikings up 21-13 at the end of the first.

Portland State opened the second quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 27-13 lead. The Vikings got to the free-throw line early and often in the second quarter, going 13-for-15 in the quarter. PSU outscored SJSU 26-18 in the second and led 47-31 at the break. The Vikings' 47 points in the first half and 26 points in the second quarter were both season highs.

San Jose State cut the lead to 12 points midway through the third quarter. A few minutes later the Vikings went on a 7-0 run to go up by a game-high 21 points after a pair of free throws from Brown with 1:32 left in the quarter. The Spartans closed out the quarter on an 8-3 run but the Vikings led 70-54 heading to the fourth.

The Spartans hit six three-pointers in the fourth but the Vikings would not let them back into the game. Portland State opened the season with a lost to UNLV after leading by 21 points in the fourth quarter and it would not let history repeat itself. SJSU cut the lead to 10 points with a three-pointer with 29 seconds left but the Vikings were able to run out the clock before Rielly laid it in at the buzzer to give the Vikings the 90-78 lead.

The 90 points were the most scored by the Vikings since they put up 93 points against Pacific Union on Nov. 20, 2016 for their first win of last season.

Portland State hits the road again next week for a pre-Thanksgiving showdown at Seattle University on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m PT. The Vikings then open their home slate against Multnomah University on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 1 p.m. at Lewis & Clark College.
