Mikaela Rivard scored a game-high 22 points but the Vikings fell to the Eastern Washington Eagles 77-63 Saturday afternoon at the Peter W. Stott Center.

Rivard went 9-for-15 from the floor including a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. She also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds while accounting for a pair of assists.

Emily Easom added 11 points going 3-for-7 from the floor with a three-pointer. Easom moved into a tie for fifth with Kelly Marchant (2007-11) on Portland State's all-time three-pointers made list with 127. Next on the list is Karrin Wilson (1996-00) with 183.

Ani Avanessian added 10 points and six rebounds while
Lauren Holt tallied nine points and seven rebounds.
Lariel Powell, coming off the bench for the first time this season, tallied eight points with seven rebounds.

The score remained tight through the first four minutes of the first half. The Vikings briefly led 6-5 before a 32-8 EWU run put the Eagles up 37-14. Eastern Washington led 41-23 at the break.

The Eagles went up by as much as 30 points late in the second half but the Vikings closed out the game on a 22-6 run over the final 6:55.

Katie O'Brien made her Portland State basketball debut Saturday. The four-year letterwinner on the PSU volleyball team has suited up the past three games to help the Vikings' depleted bench. O'Brien played the final four minutes recording a steal on her first defensive possession. She ended up going 1-for-1 with two points, a rebound, and two steals in four minutes.

Portland State will hit the road for a three-game Big Sky road trip beginning at North Dakota on Thursday, Feb. 19. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. CT.
