Meet the Vikings: Candice Orozco

The next member of the 2014 Portland State softball team to be featured is sophomore Candice Orozco

In Her Own Words…
Full Name: Candice Elaine Orozco

Nicknames: Anything that goes with Candy. Candy, Candyland, Candy cane, CanCan. I think everyone started throwing out names over a group message?

Favorite Quote: One of my favorite quotes is simply, "Bloom where you are planted." I really enjoy this quote because coming to Portland to play softball from Southern California I had a rough time adjusting to the weather and from being so far away from my family and friends back home. It seemed to, and still does, remind me to be flexible and patients with many of the situations I find myself in.

Favorite Movie: Forrest Gump, Across the Universe, Dirty Dancing

Favorite Food: I'll eat almost anything …

Favorite TV Show: How I Met Your Mother and Grey's Anatomy!

Favorite Book: Looking for Alaska by John Green

What do you like to do in your spare time? Play the ukulele, read, sing and dance around when my roomies aren't home.

Type of music/favorite artist you like to listen to? My favorite genre of music is anything I can sing along to.

Hidden Talent: I can do cartwheels and handstands.

Name one thing people may not know about you: I played a year of baseball before I started softball because I thought softball wasn't cool enough. I believe this was in my tomboy stage.

Any superstitions? Becca (Bliss) and I started to do 'hair hi- fives' before games with our curly hair last year.

Team most looking forward to playing this year? It was Idaho State because of how intense the competition is between our teams.

Favorite PSU softball memory so far in your career? Last year's link session at Idaho State when a large portion of girls licked the links.
