PORTLAND – The Portland State women's basketball team fell to Gonzaga University, 73-41, Sunday afternoon in Spokane, WA.

Lauren Holt each posted 10 points to lead the Vikings. Rivard added four rebounds and a steal. Holt went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.

The Vikings led early but the Bulldogs took the lead and did not look back. Portland State shot 30.0 percent compared to 33.3 percent by Gonzaga. Gonzaga turned 20 Portland State turnovers into 20 points and out-rebounded the Vikings 52-to-33 for the game.

Gonzaga led 31-12 at the break and then went up by as much as 35 points in the second half before winning by the final 32-point margin.

Four Bulldogs scored in double-figures led by Emma Wolfram who scored 14.

Gonzaga improved to 5-2 on the season, while Portland State fell to 1-6.

The Vikings will play at the University of Portland on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. They will then host Western Washington on Sunday, Dec. 14. Â
