PORTLAND

Powell scored her career-high 21 points going 9-for-16 from the floor, also career highs. She added a three pointer and went 2-for-3 at the line.

Powell did the majority of her damage on the run and in the paint. Eight of her nine field goals were in the paint and three were on fast breaks. The only basket she made that was outside the paint was a late three-pointer.

Powell now leads the team with 13.7 points per game this season and is shooting a team-high .515 (18-35) from the floor.

Junior G Emily Easom added a season-high 17 points for her second straight game with 15-or-more points. She went 7-for-13 from the floor and knocked down a trio of three-pointers. Powell added seven assists matching her career high.

Senior F Mikaela Rivard entered the game as the Vikings' leading scorer but was held to just four points on 2-of-12 shooting. She did pull down 10 boards, which matched her previous career high.

The game was close throughout much of the first half with five ties and four lead changes. Corban went up by as much as eight points in the first half but Portland State cut the lead to four, 35-31, at the half.

The Vikings came out cold in the second half allowing the Warriors to open the half with a 12-2 run. Portland State did not hit a field goal until the 11:50 mark of the second half on a Powell jumper in the paint. The jumper pulled the Vikings within 10 at 47-37.

Corban got out to a 16-point lead late in the second half before Portland State was able to cut the lead down to the final margin of 10 at 74-64.

Neither team shot particularly well in the game. Corban shot 40.3 percent (27-67) while Portland State shot 40.0 percent (46-56). The Warriors out-rebounded the Vikings 44-to-39 and turned 16 offensive rebounds into 16 second-chance points.
