Seamus Boxley, Men's Basketball, 2001-05
Boxley had a solid all-around career, earning Big Sky Freshman of the Year honors in 2000-01, and finishing it as the Big Sky Conference Player of the Year in 2004-05. He was also named the Big Sky's Defensive Player of the Year in 2003-04 and 2004-05. Boxley led PSU to its first Big Sky Basketball Championship in 2004-05, averaging 20.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. Boxley ranks fourth all-time in scoring (1,498), third in rebounding (748), second in blocked shots (128), third in field goal percentage (.560) and third in games played (114) in PSU history. Boxley also led the Big Sky in rebounding as a junior (9.4). Named first team All-Big Sky Conference twice, Boxley also was a five-time Big Sky Player of the Week.
Jim Dunn, Baseball, 1977-79
A second baseman and pitcher, Dunn played three seasons at Portland State before signing a professional contract with the San Francisco Giants. Dunn finished his PSU career as the all-time hitting leader with a .385 batting average. In 1978, Dunn was 10-1 as a pitcher with a 2.10 ERA, completing nine of 11 starts and earned All-NorPac honors. He was 18-5 with a 2.53 ERA in three seasons on the mound. Dunn batted .363 and stole a school-record 26 bases in 1979, once again earning All-NorPac honors. He won his team's Outstanding Pitcher Award in 1978 and Gold Glove Award in 1979.
Ryan Fuqua, Football, 2001-04
Fuqua was a four-year starter for the Vikings who rushed for 1,000+ yards in three of his four seasons. As a freshman, he had 1,586 yards to rank fifth in the nation, and led the nation with 7.6 yards per carry. Fuqua set a school record with 393 rushing yards in a game against Eastern Washington that season, was named Big Sky Newcomer of the Year and earned third team All-American honors from the Associated Press. Following that, he was a second team All-Big Sky choice in 2002, and a two-time honorable mention All-BSC choice. Fuqua finished his career second all-time in rushing (4,730 yards) and fourth all-time in touchdowns (47) at PSU. He led the Big Sky in rushing twice and all-purpose yards once. Fuqua had 21 100-yard games and six 200-yard games during his career. Fuqua was a three-time Big Sky Player of the Week and three-time National Player of the Week.
Sarah Tiller, Women's Golf, 2001-05
Tiller was a member of three Big Sky Conference Champion teams (2003, 2004, 2005) and competed in three NCAA Regional Tournaments. In 2005 she was named Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Year. Tiller was a three-time All-Big Sky player and earned Big Sky Golfer of the Week honors five times during her senior season. She also set new school records for 54-hole scoring (213) and season scoring average (77.0), twice posting the (then-)school record for single round scoring (69) as a senior. At the conclusion of her senior year, Tiller was selected as Portland State's Female Athlete of the Year. Tiller is the all-time leader in rounds played at Portland State (120), led the team in scoring in 14 tournaments during her career, and still ranks in the top 10 in career (78.65) and season scoring average.
Tim Walsh, Football Coach, 1993-2006
Walsh was the longest tenured and winningest football coach in Portland State history, coaching 14 seasons and compiling a 90-68 record. This despite having to lead PSU through the hard knocks of moving from Division II to Division I in the 90s. Walsh coached four NCAA playoff teams (1993, 1994, 1995 and 2000), including leading the Vikings to the Division I playoffs in just their fifth year at the higher level. For that effort, he was an Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year finalist in 2000. Walsh's teams had 10 winning seasons and he is one of just three PSU football coaches with career winning records. Walsh also led PSU to its only two wins over FBS level programs (Hawai'i 45-20, in 2000 and New Mexico, 17-6, in 2006).
