2012 Oregon Preview Results - Men | Women

EUGENE, Ore. – John Lawrence set the school record for the men's 2,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 5:56.64 to help kick start the Portland State track and field outdoor season Sunday at the Oregon Preview at Historic Heyward Field in Eugene, Ore.
                     
Lawrence finished fourth overall in the 2,000-meter steeplechase with his Portland State record setting time. Sean Mackelvie finished fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 44-11.00 (13.69m) and sixth in the javelin throw with a distance of 201-11 (61.54m).
 
On the women's side, Geronne Black paced the field in the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 11.72 to win the event and set the meet record previously set by Rosie Williams of Oregon in 1991. She also finished third in her heat for the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.17.
 
Dominique Maloney moved up the all-time Portland State list in the women's 400-meters with her fourth place finish in the event with a time of 57.03.
 
In the women's 100-meter hurdles event, P'Lar Dorsett paced the field with a time of 14.61 to move to 6th all-time at Portland State. Also moving into the all-time list for the event is newcomer Cassandra Sidner with a time of 14.69 to win her heat for the event.
 
Montaisha Moore is now 10th all-time at Portland state in the women's 100-meter hurdles with her time of 14.94 in the event. She then went on to move into a tie for ninth all-time in the women's triple jump with a distance of 36-09.50 (11.21m) to finish fourth overall.
 
Hanna Johnson finished second overall in the women's shot put with a distance of 40-09.75 (12.44m) while Shae Carson finished fifth in the discus throw with a throw of 122-09 (37.41m).
 
The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Dorsett, Sierra Brooks, Anaiah Rhodes and Black finished second overall, to host Oregon, with a time of 46.47 which is good enough for seventh all-time at Portland State.
 
The Vikings will now head Salem, Ore., March 30-31 for the Willamette Invitational.
