Stanford, CA - Portland State placed 11th at the Peg Barnard Invitational Golf Tournament, shooting 329-327=656 over the 36-hole event at Stanford Golf Course.

The Vikings shot two strokes better on Sunday than they did on Saturday, but maintained their position on the 12-team leaderboard.

Junior Britney Yada had the best round of the day for the Vikings, shooting a six-over par 77, as she bounced back from an opening 83. Yada's 160 total placed her in a tie for 39th among 70 golfers. She moved up 10 spots on the individual leaderboard on Sunday.

Senior Tiffany Schoning was PSU's top finisher, shooting 79-80=159. She tied for 34th overall.

Twenty-third-ranked Cal took an easy victory, winning by 19 strokes over host Stanford. The Golden Bears shot 295-292=587. Stanford came in at 303-303=606. Ninth-ranked Washington was third at 607.

Christine Uhalde of Fresno State and Emily Childs of California tied for the individual title with three-over par 145.

Freshman Emily Podlesny shot 83-84=167 to place 56th overall. Another freshman, Kelly Miller, tied for 59th at 84-86=170. Sophomore Loren Forney tied for 64th with 87-86=173.

Portland State was the only Big Sky Conference school in the field.

The Vikings are off until the Fresno State Lexus Classic, Mar. 12-13, in Fresno, CA.
