Pair of Viks Earn Final Big Sky Athlete of the Week Honors

OGDEN, Utah
- For the second time this season, Portland State swept the Big Sky's Track Athletes of the week, with sophomore Geronne Black and junior Tony Crisofulli taking the honors. Both awards are the second of each individual's career.

Black, a native New York City, won the women's 100-meters at the Oregon Twilight with her time of 11.91 seconds, her second win in as many weeks. She leads the Big Sky this season with a time of 11.65 seconds and is PSU's all-time record holder. Black last earned athlete of the week March 23, 2010 after winning the 100-meters at the Oregon Preview. Black will defend her conference championship beginning May 13.

In the 800-meters at the Oregon Twilight, Crisofulli finished fourth overall in the race with his second-fastest time of the season at 1:50.67. It is the second distinction for the Vail, Colo., native this season, having received the award April 26 for setting the Portland State record, 1:49.11, at the Oregon Relays. Crisofulli leads the Big Sky this season in the 800-meters.

Black, Crisofulli and the rest of the Vikings are gearing up for the Big Sky Championship May 11-14. The multi-events competitions will take place May 11 and 12, with the open events closing the meet out May 13 and 14.
