Portland State University Athletics

Madeline Smith is in her first year as an assistant athletic trainer at Portland State. 

Prior to PSU, Smith was a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the women’s soccer program at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. She began her career in athletic training as an undergraduate student at Towson University, working with the field hockey team before interning with the Baltimore Blast, a professional indoor soccer team, in 2023.

Smith earned her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Towson University in 2023 and completed her Master’s in Sports Nutrition at Lamar University in 2025.
