Portland State University Athletics

Portland State University named Christopher Carey as the Faculty Athletics Representative for the Vikings program in the fall of 2022. Carey, an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at PSU, serves as a liaison between the institution and the athletics department. The FAR is also as a representative of the institution in conference and NCAA affairs. The role of the FAR is to ensure that the academic institution establishes and maintains the appropriate balance between academics and intercollegiate athletics.
