The only thing slowing him down is injuries... a very talented player who has seen both collegiate seasons end prematurely... skilled athlete with a nose for the ball... if he gets fully healthy should anchor the defensive backfield.

FRESHMAN SEASON • 2024

Played in seven games, starting five... missed the final four games with a shoulder injury... still ranked ninth on the team with 30 tackles... had a career-high eight stops and a pass breakup against top-10 UC Davis (10/5)... made seven tackles in the win at Idaho State (10/12)... in 2023 had six tackles and a pass breakup at Oregon (9/2)... started and made four tackles and a pass breakup at Wyoming (9/9), but was injured in the game and out for the year... able to take a redshirt season.

BEFORE PORTLAND STATE

A versatile player at South Salem High School… as a senior caught 43 passes for 728 yards and 11 touchdowns, had 20 rushes for 227 yards and four touchdowns… on defense had three interceptions, returning one for a touchdown… had 1,227 all-purpose yards and 16 total touchdowns… competed for three seasons at Jefferson (OR) High School before transferring to South Salem… a three-time first team All-Conference selection on both offense and defense… also competes in basketball and baseball and has earned All-Conference honors in both sports.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Son of Gene and Angie Wusstig… has a brother, Evan, and a sister, Maddie… majoring in Business Administration: Technology and Analytics… enjoys riding dirt bikes, snowboarding and helping out with youth football.
