Scott Fabian has served as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Portland State since 2004. 

Fabian and his staff work with all of the Viking athletic teams, designing programs to meet the demands of each sport and accommodate their strengths and weaknesses of the individual athlete. 

Fabian is directly responsible for football and volleyball and oversees Portland State's Olympic sports.

In addition, Fabian runs The Garrison Strength & Conditioning Center located in the Peter W. Stott Center. The facility holds 10 multi-racks, seven platform areas, two set of dumbbells that range up to 130 pounds, six pieces of cardiovascular training equipment and an area to conduct plyometric exercises.

A native of Katy, Texas, Fabian was a four-year letterwinner in football at Stephen F. Austin University, where he earned his degree in Kinesiology in 1999.

Fabian earned his Master’s degree in Athletic Administration from Troy University in 2004, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

While at Troy University, Fabian became the first-ever recipient of the NSCA Student Assistantship Grant.

Fabian has also worked as an assistant strength coach at Texas Southern University in 2000, and as the Graduate Assistant Strength Coach at the University of Alabama-Birmingham from 2001-02.
