Graham McFall

Former Portland Community College head coach Graham McFall will add some local flavor to the Portland State women's basketball coaching staff in his first year as an assistant coach, working primarily with the team’s post players, during the 2024-25 season.

McFall stepped in to lead the PCC program in 2020, taking the Panthers from a one-win season the year before he arrived to a program-record 21 wins this past season. McFall led the Panthers to winning seasons in two of his three seasons at the helm. He led the Panthers to what was then a program-best 18-12 record during the 2021-22 season before topping that with a 21-7 record in 2023-24. McFall’s 2021-22 team also recorded PCC’s first postseason win in program history when it beat Centralia, 86-75, in the first round of the NWAC Championship Tournament.

Overall, McFall went 49-35 over his three seasons at PCC when the Panthers had been 9-66 in the three years before he arrived.

McFall's winning record was a tribute to his success developing players. In just three seasons at PCC, McFall saw 14 players move on to four-year schools at the end of their tenure with the Panthers. McFall led 6-2 forward Iris Cubit to first-team All-Region honors twice. Cubit averaged 15.1 points and 9.7 rebounds per game in South Region play this past season while leading the Panthers to their program-best win total.

McFall previously served from 2018-20 as an assistant coach for the women's basketball team at Lincoln University, an NCAA Division II school in Missouri. Additionally, he worked with men’s teams at Indiana University Kokomo and IUPUI at the NAIA and NCAA Division I levels. McFall served as an assistant coach for Indiana University Kokomo during the 2016-17 season, while he was a student assistant video coordinator with IUPUI during the 2014-15 season.

McFall also has coaching stops in Australia where he holds dual citizenship along with his U.S. citizenship. McFall served as the Team Australia head coach for the Alexander Basketball Academy Global Squad, an AAU program, and was an assistant coach for the Caboolture Suns in Australia in 2016. While in Australia, he also worked with the OzSwoosh Academy, a basketball player development academy.

McFall holds a bachelor’s degree in sports leadership from the University of Wisconsin Superior. He earned a master’s of arts degree in higher education from Lincoln University, where he coached as an assistant.
