Alyssa Tiedens joins the Portland State Sports Medicine staff in 2014 as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer. She will work primarily with women’s basketball. Tiedens will also assist with the men’s and women’s outdoor track teams in the spring, football in the summer, as well as coverage of the athletic treatment center during the academic year.
Tiedens earned a BS in Athletic Training with minors in Spanish and International Sports Medicine from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2013. She is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Health Studies/Public Health. Tiedens is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the NATA, and registered as an athletic trainer in the state of Oregon.
Previously, Tiedens worked as the Head Atheltic Trainer at Battle Ground (WA) High School in 2013-14, contracted by ProActive Physical Therapy. She taught back safety classes to the AMR EMT’s and paramedics, as well as served as an on-call physical therapy aide at ProActive.
