Alexi Smith is in her first year at Portland State. She will serve as the Vikings’ Video Operations Coordinator as she finishes her undergraduate degree.
Smith’s responsibilities include maintaining and updating scouting content in Synergy, coordinating video operations during practice, assisting with practice and game scheduling, cutting and editing video clips for scouting reports, and managing student volunteers.
Smith played three years at Southern Oregon University under Head Coach Lynn Kennedy. She earned NAIA All-American status following the 2014-15 season when she helped lead the Raiders to a 27-5 record and a Sweet 16 appearance. She averaged 13.8 points and 7.5 rebounds during her senior year and finished seventh all-time in scoring (1,266) and ninth in rebounding (667). Prior to SOU, she played one year at Bakersfield College.
Smith spent the 2013-14 season as Assistant Coach and Head Freshman Coach at Stockdale High School, her alma mater, in Bakersfield, Calif.
