LOS ALAMOS HIGH SCHOOL:
Lettered in cross country (two years) and track and field (one year) in high school…Earned all-state honors after finishing third in the cross country state meet as a senior…Two-time all-district honoree…Part of two state championship teams at Los Alamos.
CLUB:
Has competed in XTERRA and triathlons at the club level…Named an XTERRA All-American in 2011.
PERSONAL/MISCELLANEOUS:
Born Nov. 17, 1994…Son of Parrish and Wendy Staples…Has one brother, Cameron Staples…Lists Younglife Leadership/Ministry, Guitar and writing as his hobbies and interests…Plans to major in environmental engineering, with the goal of working for Engineers Without Borders, and to “increase our sustainability through the engineering of buildings and transportation” in general.
