Tayler Fettig joined the Vikings as an assistant coach in charge of sprints and jumps before the start of the 2024 indoor and outdoor track seasons, and will serve her second year in that role during the 2024-25 school year.
Â
In her first year with the Vikings, Fettig helped lead Dieumerci Migani to the NCAA West First Round in the men’s triple jump. Migani’s regional appearance came after he set two school records on back-to-back days at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships. His first school record came in the 100 meters, where he bettered a 21-year-old record while finishing in 10.51 seconds. Migani set his second standard a day later in the triple jump, becoming the first Viking ever to crack 50 feet in the event with a best mark of 50-00.75 (15.26m).
Fettig was a dual-sport athlete at Central Washington University from 2011-16. She participated in both basketball (2011-2013) and track and field (2012-16). After two years of playing basketball she decided to focus on track and field, participating in the heptathlon with a focus on high jump. She was a five-time All-American and one-time runner up at the NCAA Division II National Championships. She graduated with the school record and the GNAC indoor conference record in the high jump.
Fettig received her degree in physical education and school health and has taken part in assistant coaching at the high school level for sprints/hurdles and jumps. She has trained athletes one-on-one alongside her role at various high schools.
