Kristen Rohde re-joined the Vikings for a second stint in the fall of 2023. She transitioned into being the Vikings' Director of Operations ahead of the 2024-25 track season. Rohde previously assisted the Vikings from 2013-15.
Rohde brings a wealth of first-hand competitive experience from her time as a runner both collegiately and post-collegiately. In college, Rohde ran for the University of Portland track & field and cross country program, graduating in 2007.
After college, Rohde qualified and raced in three USATF Track & Field Championships. She raced at two indoor national meets, competing in the 3k in 2012 and 2013, as well as one national outdoor meet, running the 10k in 2014. She also represented Team USA at the Edinburgh Cross Country Challenge in 2016.
Portland State head coach Jonathan Marcus, who is Rohde’s husband, coached her throughout her times on the national and international level.
Rohde continued her education at the University of Portland after earning her bachelor’s, eventually graduating from the Physical Therapy school in 2010.
She says of her role as a volunteer assistant that the parts she enjoys most are “being a role model and positive voice for the student-athletes.”
