Former Viking player Mickey Polis serves in the role of Director of Basketball Operations. Polis, who handles numerous administrative duties for Portland State, will begin his fifth season in the fall of 2013-14.
Polis played two seasons as a point guard on the Viking team from 2007-09. He was part of a team that won 46 games, two Big Sky Conference titles and made two trips to the NCAA Tournament. Polis was the team’s top three-point percentage shooter during that span hitting 47% from long range.
“Mickey is a hard worker and has a bright future in coaching if he continues to pursue this as a career,” said Viking Coach Tyler Geving. “Having been in the program over the last two years he understands our system and expectations. We are fortunate to still have him in our program.”
Polis graduated with a degree in Economics in 2009 from Portland State.
