Academic All-Big Sky Conference

Top returning tackler after ranking third on the team last season... a play-maker who is always around the ball... will be a key member of the defense this season... plays bigger than his size. 

JUNIOR SEASON • 2018
Played in all 11 games, starting six... had 58 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery... made a team-high three takeaways... had an interception and return of 31 yards in a win over College of Idaho (9/15)... made eight tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack and forced a fumble at Idaho (9/29)... in a win over Northern Colorado (10/13) made six tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack... eight tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery in a win at Sacramento State (10/27)... made a season-high nine tackles at North Dakota (11/10)... earned Academic All-Big Sky Conference.

BEFORE PORTLAND STATE
Competed in football at Los Angeles Valley Junior College... had 38 tackles, three interceptions and a fumble recovery as a sophomore... also took snaps at running back and as a punt returner... named second team All-Conference as an Athlete... a member of the Dean’s List.

Competed in football and track at Imhotep Charter in Philadelphia... earned All-City and All-State honors.

PERSONAL INFORMATION
Son of Marie Soumah and Cyril Gunt... has three brothers, Anthony, Amadou and Souleymane, and two sisters, Hawa and Matogoma... Business Administration: Management and Leadership major... plans to be a business owner... hobbies include working out, watching movies, music and rehab to stay healthy.
