One of the most experienced and productive players on the team... has started 22 in a row at center entering the 2013 season... part of an offensive line that has been a team strength for years... tough player who is undersized... broke his right ankle in 2009 and left ankle in 2011 but came back strong both times... should be a team leader and offensive line leader as a senior... outstanding and academically honored student as well.
JUNIOR SEASON • 2012
Started all 11 games at center for the second year in a row... did so despite missing spring football with a broken ankle... one of four players on offense and six overall to start every game for the Vikings... blocked for an offense that averaged 438.7 yards and 34.8 points per game and allowed only seven sacks all season, ranking fourth in the nation... earned honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference... once again named Academic All-Big Sky Conference, CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 and honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference... selected by his team as the Mike Schrunk Scholar Athlete of the Year for the second year in a row... also named to the NCAA I FCS Athletic Directors Association Academic All-Star team.
SOPHOMORE SEASON • 2011
Took over at center during fall camp and started all 11 games... key player on an offensive line that blocked for the top rushing game in the Big Sky Conference and the best in school history (247.8 ypg)... named honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference and Academic All-Big Sky... selected to the prestigious CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 team and a candidate for Academic All-America... was selected by his team as the Mike Schrunk Scholar Athlete of the Year.
FRESHMAN SEASON • 2010
Replaced an injured Alex Cosenza in the lineup at right guard in the fourth game and started five in a row... a solid performer who played a big role in the Vikings’ excellent running attack... part of an offensive line that blocked for the Big Sky Conference’s top rushing team (203.3 ypg), coming just a few yards short of a school record (2,236)... a redshirt in 2009 after suffering a broken ankle in the preseason... earned Academic All-Big Sky Conference.
PREVIOUS TO PORTLAND STATE
A letterwinner in football, wrestling and track all four years at West Linn High School... an honorable mention All-State selection as a center and defensive tackle... first team All-Three Rivers League at those positions as well... was a Nike Camp MVP on the offensive line... earned National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete honors for the state of Oregon... a two-time team captain... selected to play in the Les Schwab Bowl All-Star game... All-State wrestler as a heavyweight, he won the 6A state championship as a senior... a member of the National Honor Society.
