Played fullback and quarterback at South Salem High School... a three-star recruit according to Rivals, Scouts.com... listed as the nation’s number seven fullback according to Scout.com... SuperPrep listed him as the state’s fifth-best recruit, while Rivals had him at number seven... rushed 128 times for 859 yards and 14 TDs as a senior... passed for 1,182 yards and 12 TDs, completing 84 of 178 passes... also had 11 receptions for 115 yards... rushed for 1,132 yards and 13 TDs as a junior... completed 62 of 121 passes for 816 yards and eight TDs, and had four receptions for 97 yards... caught 39 passes for 850 yards and 13 TDs while posting 13 sacks on defense as a sophomore.
