The Vikings Coaching Staff says: "Dionte is a versatile athlete that can play on both sides of the ball, and he is an electrifying kick returner. He has the ability to play cornerback due to his speed and safety or nickelback because of how physical he is."
 

BEFORE PORTLAND STATE

A talented defensive back and receiver at Orange Vista High School... named All-League and All-CIF... as a senior had 44 tackles, one tackle for loss and three pass breakups... also caught 16 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns... as a junior had 32 tackles, one for loss, an interception and four pass breakups... added two punt return touchdowns and one kick return touchdown... as a sophomore he made 36 tackles with two for losses, one interception, one pass breakup and two fumble recoveries... team MVP in track and field as a sprinter.

Son of Dionte West and Tonieshia and Michael Stanton... has three brothers, Tyrell, Dion and Micah, and two sisters, Shyrah and Nailah... plans to major in Applied Health and Fitness... would like to be a business owner... hobbies are golf and fishing.
