Andrew Pompei

Andrew Pompei serves as the strength and conditioning coach for the Portland State football program. He began his tenure with the Vikings in March 2010, preceding spring practice.

Pompei coordinates lifting and conditioning routines, along with nutrition guidelines for the team. Pompei also assists with other sports in the Vikings’ Athletics Department.

Previously, Pompei served as a Graduate Assistant at Nevada. There he served as the strength coach for women’s swimming and diving, women’s soccer and men’s and women’s golf. He developed and managed all workouts for the teams and also assisted with the football program.

Familiar to the area, Pompei is a native of Tigard and played football for former Portland State assistant coach Frank Geske. He played collegiately at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was a teammate of current Buffalo Bills running back Freddy Jackson.
