A redshirt in 2014, competed on the scout team in 2015... should have a shot at playing time at linebacker this season.

PREVIOUS TO PORTLAND STATE
Lettered in football three times and wrestling four times at West Linn High School... started as both a linebacker and a receiver... earned All-League honors as a senior... had 117 tackles, five sacks, two fumble recoveries and two blocked field goals on defense, and 39 catches for 687 yards and three touchdowns on offense... earned All-League and All-State honors as a wrestler... a team captain in both sports.

PERSONAL INFORMATION
Son of Bob and Nancy Schmitz... has two brothers, Matt and Trevor, and one sister, Hannah... plans to major in Business... hobbies are hunting, fishing and weight lifting.
