Lettered in football and wrestling at Hockinson High School... his senior season was named first team All-State and first team All-Region as a linebacker... also the Greater St. Helens League Defensive MVP and first team All-League punter... amassed 713 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on 28 receptions, averaging 25.5 yards per catch... had 57 tackles, six tackles for loss and a sack... also a state champion wrestler at 220 pounds.
