Lettered in football at Lincoln High School in Tacoma... named AP first team All-State twice in his career... completed 71% of his passes for 3,445 yards, 39 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 13 games as a senior...as a junior, he completed 61% of his passes for 2,893 yards, 35 touchdowns and five interceptions in 11 games... in his high school career, he totaled 7,690 yards, 89 touchdowns and 18 INTs... three-time All-Conference selection, leading his team to three league championships... team reached the state semifinals his senior year.
