Biography

    The incumbent at point guard, he should be one of the better floor leaders in the Big Sky Conference this season... very quick and strong for his size... a very competitive individual... will be counted on to lead the team.

    COACH GEVING SAYS: “Lateef had some good games last year. The big thing for him is to be more consistent this year. I want his assist-to-turnover ratio to improve. His turnovers weren’t bad, but assist-wise he should average between five and six assists per game and be more of playmaker for us.”

2011-12 • JUNIOR SEASON
    Started all 32 games at point guard for the Vikings and got better as the season progressed... ranked third on the team in scoring (9.4) and led the team in assists (2.8)... also averaged 2.9 rebounds, had 27 steals and 37 three-point field goals... shooting .363 from the field and .720 at the line... led the team in scoring once and assists 15 times during the season... scored in double figures 13 times... scored a season-high 20 points (7-11 FG, 2-4 3-pt, 4-5 FT) with six assists in a win at Northern Colorado (1/12)... had 15 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3-pt, 6-9 FT) and six assists in a win over Cal State Bakersfield (12/15)... scored 18 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3-pt, 8-11 FT) with five rebounds and five assists in an overtime win at Eastern Washington (1/21)... made a three-pointer in the closing seconds to send the game into overtime... scored 19 points (7-12 FG, 1-4 3-pt, 4-5 FT) with three assists at Oregon State (12/18)... scored 16 points (5-11 FG, 3-6 3-pt, 3-6 FT) with six rebounds and three assists at Idaho (2/18)... had 14 points (3-4 FG, 1-2 3-pt, 7-9 FT) and five assists in a win at Sacramento State (2/23)... BIG SKY TOURNAMENT: scored 14 points (4-8 FG, 2-3 3-pt, 4-4 FT) with four assists in the win over Montana State... had eight points (3-6 FG, 2-2 3-pt) and three assists against Weber State.

PREVIOUS TO PORTLAND STATE
    Last year at Citrus Junior College, he led the team with 16.3 points per game and 4.2 assists per game... also averaged 3.0 rebounds, had 52 steals and made 89 three-point field goals... his team was 27-6 and reached the California State Championship game... despite losing to City College of San Francisco, he scored 23 points, hitting seven three-pointers... named first team All-State and first team All-Western State Conference South Division... named his school’s Male Athlete of the Year.
    As a freshman in 2009-10, he played at UC Riverside... competed in 27 games, starting nine... averaged 6.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in 21.6 minutes per game... shot 41% from three-point range... earned Big West All-Freshman team honors.
    Lettered in basketball at Flora MacDonald Academy in Gastonia, NC... averaged 20 points per game as a senior... member of the honor roll.

PERSONAL INFORMATION
    Son of Lawrence McMullan and Georgina Smith, and stepson of Constance Walker McMullan... born April 4, 1990... has one brother, Anthony, and three sisters, Ebonie, Akilah and Felitta... majoring in Community Health... hobbies are music and playing chess... his goal is to play professional basketball.
