Had a good junior season in his role... a very strong athlete... will compete for open starting spots on the defensive line in 2023.
JUNIOR SEASON • 2022
Played in all 11 games as a backup defensive lineman... had 12 tackles and one sack on the season... made a season-high four tackles and was in on a sack at Idaho (10/22).
BEFORE PORTLAND STATE
A two-time All-American at City College of San Francisco… team won the 2021 National Championship… had 20 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss in eight games as a sophomore… made 55 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 12.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 10 games as a freshman.
Played football, basketball, baseball and rugby for four years at Cardinal Newman High School… earned Scholar-Athlete honors all four years… earned first team All-State honors for three years… also league and team MVP… All-State honors in rugby.

Son of James Kahaulelio and Toni Guonella… has one brother, Jake, and one sister, Chey… majoring in Journalism… hobbies are cooking, fishing, hunting and community service projects… would like to be a writer, specializing in writing about culture, and open his own food truck.
