2nd team All-Big Sky Conference
Waited a long time after signing in December 2019, but was worth the wait for the Viking defense... proved to be a huge disruptor and just what the Vikings needed... put up record-breaking numbers in his first year... great combination of size, strength and quickness... poised to be one of the top players in the Big Sky in 2022.
JUNIOR SEASON • 2021
Became one of the top defensive players in the Big Sky Conference almost immediately... played in all 11 games, starting 10... had 45 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks... also forced three fumbles and broke up two passes... led the team in tackles for loss, sacks and forced fumbles... had the most tackles for loss and sacks by a Viking ever at the FCS level and the most by any Viking since 1988... ranked second in the Big Sky in tackles for loss, fourth in sacks and fourth in forced fumbles... ranked fifth in the nation in tackles for loss, 11th in sacks... made at least one tackle for loss in 10 of 11 games... named second team All-Big Sky Conference... opened the season with five tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks at Hawai’i (9/4)... also had two tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks at Washington State (9/11)... made five tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a pass breakup in the win over Western Oregon (9/18)... had three tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles in the win over Idaho State (10/16)... followed that game with a season-high eight tackles, five tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble in the win over Cal Poly (10/30)... also had sacks in wins at Southern Utah (10/2) and Weber State (11/6)... played in the spring game at Montana, making five tackles, including one for loss.
BEFORE PORTLAND STATE
Played two seasons at Golden West College… earned first team All-Conference and first team All-State both years… as a sophomore had 26 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions and one blocked kick in nine games… as a freshman made 41 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, four sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, an interception and a pass breakup in 11 games.
Lettered in football at O’Dea High School… a two-time first team All-Conference selection at offensive guard and defensive end.

Son of Olo and Mika Malo… has two sisters, Natalie and Noelle... majoring in Social Science.
